Dr.Marietta Lomboy

Dr. Marietta Lomboy, DNP, MSN, APRN-BC, completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in July from Mercer University in Atlanta, GA with a 4.0 GPA. She received several tuition scholarships while at Mercer University. She obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Her focus includes chronic care management, evidence-based clinical practice, and improvement of clinical outcomes. She has trained with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality on the SHARE approach of patient care empowering patients to be a major part in clinical decisions and take more responsibility for their health. Her scholarly research entitled ” Evaluation of Hypertension Knowledge to Improve Hypertension Self-Management in Primary Care” was selected out of hundreds of applicants and was presented at the 8th Doctor of Nursing Practice Conference in Seattle on September 18, 2015. This project utilizes the HELM (Hypertension Evaluation & Lifestyle Management) questionnaire to target education needs of hypertensive patients and streamlines the clinical provider management of Hypertension. Dr. Marietta Lomboy is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Honor Society of Nursing and serves as a Global Ambassador. The Global Ambassador Program is designed to increased STTI’s global visibility and its contributions worldwide. Her project also won a grant from Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Pi Gamma Chapter. She is grateful for all the support from her family, staff, patients, and community. She is excited to return to full- time clinical practice after more than two years of rigorous studies to apply her knowledge and help make a difference in her patients’ lives.
